Licenses, Policies, and Acceptable Use
AssessMinds is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for managing academic assessment data for teachers, students, and educational institutions. This page sets out the license under which you may use the Platform and the acceptable use rules that apply. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — where those documents already cover a topic (such as termination, liability, or how we handle personal data), this page does not repeat or override them.
Software License
Subject to your (or your institution's) compliance with this policy and our Terms of Service, AssessMinds grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for lawful, authorized educational administration purposes. This license does not grant you any right to resell, sublicense, or provide the Platform to any third party outside your institution.
Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its software, design, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by AssessMinds and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of the Platform to you. Ownership of data you or your institution submit to the Platform is addressed separately in our Terms of Service.
Acceptable Use
When using the Platform, you agree to:
- Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for student, parent, and teacher data that you enter.
- Use the Platform only for lawful, authorized educational administration purposes, consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
- Avoid uploading, transmitting, or sharing misleading, harmful, or unlawful material through the Platform.
- Not attempt to circumvent access controls or use the Platform to access data you are not authorized to view.
Data Protection
We take the protection of data on the Platform seriously, including the use of encryption and access controls appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved. Full detail on what data we collect, why, and your rights over it is set out in our Privacy Policy, which takes precedence over any general statement on this page.
Enforcement
Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of access to the Platform, in accordance with the termination terms set out in our Terms of Service.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect technological, operational, or regulatory changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
